Fanatical Preacher Who Wanted Microsoft Employees Fired Holds Services In Public School Facilities

Thanks to Karen in Kalifornia for this information.

Ken Hutcherson, pastor of Redmond Washington's Antioch Bible Churh, holds his worship services in a public high school. Hutcherson is the fanatic who insisted Microsoft fire its employees who testified in favor of Washington's Non-Discrimination Legislation. And then he threatened Microsoft with a 'christian' boycott in retaliation for supporting equal treatment under the law.

The Lake Washington School District Human Dignity Policy takes a stand against such anti-human rights activities.

"Recognizing and valuing that we are a diverse community, it is part of our mission to provide a positive, harmonious environment in which diversity is respected and encouraged. A major aim of education in the Lake Washington School District is the development of a commitment to the core values of a democratic society. In accordance with this aim, the district strongly emphasizes a core value of mutual human respect for each person regardless of individual differences and/or, characteristics including for example, but not necessarily limited to race, gender, age, disability, physical condition, sexual orientation, ethnic group or religion. We expect this value to be manifested in the daily behaviors of students, staff and volunteers."

Write to the Lake Washington School District board and to the administration of Lake Washington High School. Ask them to explain why they allow this organization to meet on their campus, apparently in violation of their own Human Dignity Policy. Ask them to explain to you how demanding that employees who support equal treatment under the law be fired from their jobs is 'respectful'. Ask them to explain what is respectful about threatening to organize a boycott of Microsoft in retalition for supporting equal treatment under the law for all residents of the state of Washington.

Give It Back, Microsoft!

TAKE ACTION!
Courtesy of John at AmericaBlog.

The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center has demanded that Microsoft give back the Corporate Vision Award it received from the center in 2001.

It's time we helped them get it back.

The award was for Microsoft's leadership in promoting the civil rights of gays and lesbians, including its work on statewide legislation. As Microsoft has now announced that it is abandoning gay civil rights legislation out of fear of its own religious right employees and shareholders, the LA Center quite courageously asked for its award back.

Microsoft has refused to even take the Center's calls, or give the award back. Worse yet, Microsoft still brags on its Web site about having received the award, even though the award has now been recalled (they list it here too). Interestingly, Microsoft was able to update its Web site immediately when its HR director abruptly exited last Friday (and we know the reason why, we're just not telling, yet), but they can't update the Web site to reflect this?

It's time we helped the LA Gay and Lesbian Center get its award back, and at the same time get our dignity back.

Contact Microsoft now and until they give the award back and delete any references to it from their Web site. It's bad enough they're knifing us, but now they're still trying to take credit for being our friends? Please.

David Virtue Has a Thing for Bishop Gene Robinson

Yes, David Virtue has a thing for Bishop Robinson, a very sick and demented thing.

He's the one who spread lies about "Robinson's website" on the eve of the official approval of Robinson's election as Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire.

Virtual Trickery Backfires

By Ethan Flad The Witness 8/7/03

David Virtue’s hateful "house of cards" may have finally come tumbling down. The notorious online source of an aggressive anti-women, anti-homosexual agenda, Virtue’s vitriol sank to a desperate new low on Monday, August 4th.

At the 8:30am press briefing, Virtue walked up to the microphone and asked bishop spokespersons Wendell Gibbs (Michigan) and Ed Little (Northern Indiana), "Do you know that Gene Robinson’s website is linked by one click to 5,000 pornographic websites?" No, responded both bishops. Virtue followed up, "Well, now that you do know this, will this change your vote on his election?" Gibbs replied, "I would doubt the veracity of such information at this moment. It seems like a last-minute ploy." Virtue walked back to his seat shaking his head.

A last-minute ploy indeed: the phrase "dirty tricks" seems more to the point. Over the next several hours, as another, larger bomb was launched at Gene Robinson’s election, Virtue’s campaign to bring down the bishop-elect began to unravel.
[...]

David Virtue's latest escapade was to launch another accusation at Bishop Robinson from his right-wing extremist 'christian' website. Virtue accused Bishop Robinson of implying that Jesus was gay.

NH bishop denies suggesting Christ was gay

Union Leader and Telegraph 4/5/2005

The Episcopal bishop of New Hampshire yesterday denounced published reports that said he had suggested Jesus Christ might have been homosexual.

The reports stemmed from remarks Bishop V. Gene Robinson made in February while speaking at Christ Church of Hamilton and Wenham, a conservative Episcopalian congregation in Massachusetts. Some religious conservatives took Robinson's words as implying Christ might have been homosexual, but yesterday Robinson denounced that idea.

"I can assure you with absolute certainty that was not my implication, and certainly not anything I ever said," Robinson said in a phone interview. "I am furious for my remarks to be interpreted in a way as to mean something I never said.

"My office is being flooded with angry messages from around the country, and from around the world, about something I never said," Robinson said later in that interview.

Robinson's remarks were first reported upon by David Virtue, a religion writer who originally wrote about them on his Web site, VirtueOnline, at www.virtueonline.org. From there, the story spread
to various blogs and then to right-leaning publications, including the Telegraph, a national newspaper based in London, England, which reported on the matter Sunday.
[...]

Let's let David Virtue have a taste of his own medicine. Let him experience what a flood of angry messages is like, this time angry messages that result from his own actions, not something dreamed up by a third party. Remind David about what the Bible says about people who lie and plot in order to victimize the innocent and create division.

Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to him. Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood; a heart that plots wicked schemes, feet that run swiftly to do evil, the false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers.

Tell David Virtue exactly what you think about his deplorable behavior.

I accuse: TX Senator John Cornyn of supporting terrorism.

Why does John Cornyn hate America?

It seems that John Cornyn, the junior United States Senator from Texas, sympathizes with terrorists who kill Americans.

Here is what Senator Cornyn had to say on the Senate floor April 4th, 2005:

"I don't know if there is a cause-and-effect connection but we have seen some recent episodes of courthouse violence in this country. Certainly nothing new, but we seem to have run through a spate of courthouse violence recently that's been on the news and I wonder whether there may be some connection between the perception in some quarters on some occasions where judges are making political decisions yet are unaccountable to the public, that it builds up and builds up and builds up to the point where some people engage in - engage in violence."

Think about it. He can understand why some people shoot judges (and court reporters and bailiffs and other innocent bystanders). He can see where they're coming from. Now, I am not sure what Brian Nichols had in mind when he went on his shooting spree in Atlanta (I always rather suspected that it was to avoid going to jail for rape), but John Cornyn seems to believe that it was the fact that Brian Nichols was just sick and tired of activist judges. And don't believe the left-wing media, who will tell you that Bart Ross killed federal judge Joan Lefkow's mother and husband because he was unhappy that she ruled against his frivilous lawsuits... John Cornyn now tells us that what Bart Ross was really upset about was activist judges (which should lead us to wonder how John Cornyn feels about the fact that both Texas Republican Senators Gramm and Hutchinson voted to allow Judge Lefkow the Activist Judge onto the federal bench in 2000... does he now blame them for the deaths since they should have stopped it?).

So, e-mail Senator Cornyn and his supporters and ask why he hates America and why they give money to someone who is a terrorist sympathizer.

Or call and ask him yourself at (202) 224-2934.
